Jose Escobedo, Jr. of McAllen elected State Bar of Texas Board Chair
HORSESHOE BAY, TEXAS – McAllen attorney Joe Escobedo Jr. was elected chair of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors during the board’s April 15 meeting in Horseshoe Bay. Escobedo will take office during the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting to be held June 16-17 in Fort Worth. He will serve as chair until June 2017.
Escobedo is a partner in Escobedo & Cardenas Attorneys at Law in McAllen. He is board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, representing clients in complex commercial and tort-based litigation.
Escobedo is an AV-rated attorney who has been selected to Super Lawyers, a Thompson Reuters publication, each year from 2006 to 2015. He also is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and has authored numerous continuing legal education articles.
Born in Mission, Texas, Escobedo received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1989. He also has obtained certification as a mediator by The Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution at UT’s School of Law.
